If you are uploading a file that is larger that 50MB in size you will need to use an FTP connection. FTP allows for much larger uploads than via the website. Below we have listed all the steps necessary to upload your files using an FTP connection.

 

WHAT IS FTP?

FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. FTP is used primarily by web designers to upload files to the internet. FTP allows for much larger uploads than your standard web browser. FTP uses a program called an "FTP client" to upload files to the internet. See below for links to free FTP clients.

 

 

WHERE DO I GET AN FTP CLIENT?

There are many different FTP clients available free for download. Here is a link to a very well recognized free FTP client: SMART FTP. Download and install this software and follow the instruction below.

 

 

HOW DO I GET A USERNAME AND PASSWORD?

You will need a username and password in order to login to our servers. To obtain a username and password for FTP login please email us at sales@adpress.ca. You will receive an email back containing all the login information within minutes.

 

 

HOW DO I UPLOAD MY FILES?

Before you upload please make sure you give your file a descriptive name. Below are links to 2 video tutorials from Smart FTP on how to upload your files. The first describes how to connect to our server, and the second explains how to upload your files.
